Tools · Still yours?

Your records, and whether your copy still opens.

A copy you never opened is not a copy. List where your records live, save a copy, check it opens here, and write down where it is kept and who else knows.

Questions people ask

Is this a backup?
No. It keeps no copy of anything. It is the list a backup needs: where each record lives, how to get a copy out, when you last did, whether that copy opens, and who else knows where it is.
How does it check a copy opens?
Choose the file. For a ZIP it reads only the table of contents at the end, so a Google Takeout archive of several gigabytes is checked in a moment; a ZIP that was cut short by an unfinished download fails, with the reason. It says how many files are inside, how many are in formats ordinary software opens, and names the ones it knows, like conversations.json. Nothing is uploaded.
Why do the links expire?
Each service sets its own window: Claude’s emailed link expires 24 hours after delivery, Google’s archives after about 7 days, Apple gives 14 days. Download the copy the day it arrives.
Who else knows where it is?
Write a role, not a password: the person who would sort your things. The list stays in this browser; download or print it to hand to them.
