Tools · Idea homes
Find a home for every idea.
Paste your ideas, one per line, and name your projects. Every idea gets exactly one home: one of your projects, a blind spot none of them covers, or out of scope, with a why made from the words they share. It runs in this tab and matches words, not meaning.
It matches words, not meaning.
There is no AI on this page. The sorting is plain word overlap, weighted so rare words count more, and every why names the words it used. That makes it fast, the same every time, and easy to check. It also means it misses a match that uses different words for the same thing. For thinking about what the ideas mean, copy the result into the AI you already use.
Questions people ask
How does it decide where an idea goes?
It matches words, not meaning. Each line is split into words, a short list of common words is set aside, and plurals are folded together (reminders and reminder count as one). A word that many of your lines use counts for less than a rare one (TF-IDF weighting). An idea's score for a project is the share of the idea's weighted words that the project's name and description also use. At 40% or more, with two or more shared words, it is a strong match; at 15% or more it is a loose match; below that the project does not take it.
What is a blind spot?
Two or more ideas that no project takes and that share a word with each other. They point at a need none of your projects covers. Blind spots are ranked by how many ideas point at them. An idea no project takes and no other leftover idea shares a word with is out of scope.
Why does it get some ideas wrong?
Because it only sees words. “Bike” and “bicycle” are different words to it, so an idea can miss the project it obviously belongs to. Write your project's description in the words your ideas use and the matches get better. Each why shows the exact words it matched on, so a wrong home is easy to spot.
Where are my ideas kept?
In this browser only (localStorage), so they are still here when you come back. Nothing is sent: there is no account, no server that receives them, and no model. Clear removes them. Copy as text and Print give you a copy that is yours.
